Did Top engine flush, engine won't stop smoking.
The kind of flush you hook up to a vacuum port and it's supposed to clean the carbon off your pistons?
It's been run about a hour total since I did the flush, but the smoking hasn't even really slowed down much. It seems to be running fine..if maybe just a little rough. is this normal?

Jester,
If you had heavy carbon deposits you may still be clearing them out. You may have also cleaned varnish away from the ring lands on the pistons. This may be causing temporary ring sealing problems and poor oil control. I'd keep a close eye on the oil level just to be safe.

Howdy!
I have used a Top Engine Cleaner product by GM, in my Z71 half ton 4 wheel drive. It was recommended by a mechanic to immediately drive the vehicle, keeping the RPM's up to burn off the solvents in the cleaner. (Drove for about half hour)
This Engine Cleaner, smelled extremely toxic.
Is this similar to what you are using?

GM top engine cleaner works wonders...
My car smoked for about 30 - 45 minutes....
If the smoke stays with you for more than that, then maybe your engine was dirtier than you thought...
If it stays a lot longer than that, then you might have a problem... Make sure to keep an eye on your oil....

Wouldn't it be possible that like useing synthetics that it cleans the areas so much that the seals and all that were clogged by gunk have been opened up? Just a thought.

I just started working a Napa, and there is a product that they HIGHLY recommend for this, its made by SeaFoam. Never heard of it before, but apparantly its been around awhile. Anyways, one of the guys said he did it to his son's car, and it smoked for a week. After that, it finally returned to normal.
