I don't know... how valuable do you consider "pissing into the wind"?
------------------
1984 z28 w/ a 357 cu in. monster engine which is looking like the posterchild for Edelbrock with the exception of the Holley 750vac... all the suspension stuff... 9-bolt posi disk is in...

you guys forgot something... a 334 will have a lot more torque than a 350. IF you are bulding a motor to pull a trailor it would be ok, but for speed you need a larger bore.
Longer stroke = more toque
Larger Bore = more HP
Though more displacement = more hp and more torque

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

Dude, If you want to have something that most everybody else doesn't then by all means go for it, and don't listen to the people who discourage you, just the ones that encourage you. You could make decent power with it and it'd be kinda cool to probably be the only guy in the damn state with a 334. I personally think folks that go the unconventional route have more ***** and ingenuity. But sometimes practicality outweights ingenuity by so much that you start to tread on the fine line of insanity.
But, if you want to go for a cheap, reliable, combo that makes great power the 350 is the way to go, no question. Ease of maintenance and more than plentiful parts. Bottom line, do what you gotta do.

The ONLY reason I would build a 334 over going with a 350, would be to retain a numbers matching block if you believe that your car will have "collector value". Other than that, I too say "go 350...better yet 406"!
