Rear Intake Seal... its gone...
Ok, well in my quest of utter goodness. Today i was workin on the engine. I set valvelash, and reset timing to 6* advance. Then all the sudden the engine just stops. I cant figure it out. then i notice the dizzy came out, and it was off the oil pump shaft. And at the same time, i have my flashlight, and i see that the rubber rear seal for the intake. Is half way off. I'm such a dummy.
Now, i have to completely dissassemble my intake. Remove it. and redo everything. Its times like these, that make me hate doing my own work.
It shouldn't be a big deal. It seems tho that oil is liking to come from that crack. I had an oil leak and was trying to find it. I think i managed to find it now.
Anyone ever do this before?
Is there an easier way then pulling the intake? maybe spray in gasket maker?

Pull the intake.
Get new gaskets for the ports.
Thourghly clean the china walls and block surface...toss the rubber/cork seals..
Run a 1/8th or 3/16th bead of Black RTV instead of the gasket.
Drop the intake straight down...then have the feeling you'll have deep inside that there will never be a leak.

I cant just clean back there with carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner.
Scrape the area with a respactable blade, to not allow any material to fall inside.
And Get a thin nozzle for RTV and fill the crack up. Would i be able to try this before going to pull the intake.
I think i'll give it a shot anyways tomorow. It cant really hurt. I do have my hook blades Shaped like an S that i can use to make sure nothing falls in. I'd hate to have to buy another intake gasket, for $20 when another complete gasket kit is $45 with TPI Gaskets.
For those who say there isn't enough room. I beg to differ. I have extremely large, yuet thin hands, and i can do things many guys would question.I just need some patience, and a little cooler temperaturees.

Pulling the intake off and cleaning and sealing it properly is the only way to know for sure that it's not going to leak again. Trying to patch it up with RTV might work, or might not, but will probably make a bit of a mess of the back of the block.

Pull the intake, and use RTV instead of the crap that comes with the gaskets. It's not even worth debating, just do it. No more leaks, like 8Mike9 stated.

So long as you can take my ribbin' ya'.
Actually, if I didn't listen a bonehead friend of mine and just sat and thought why I recognized your s/n I would have finally figured out that you were one of the few old bastards on here that remembers playing with points.
Mistaken identity in that thread.
Sorry 'bout that.

Well i went and bought Intake gaskets today.
And i went to autiozone and got gasket material for the intake plenum gaskets. Because they had to order them as well as the dealer, so i'd hate to have to wait anyways. Plus this way i can port match the gaskets better.
I got quite a large roll too for $10. I could do like 20 sets. but i have a few extra top runner gaskets. I just needed the 4 bottom ones.
