gas gauge problem . . .

not sure where to post this . . .
My new problem is that whenever I fill up my gas tank, the gauge only goes up to a little over 3/4 of a tank-am I screwed because the only thing I can think of is that the meter-reader thing inside the gas tank keeps getting stuck . ..I have no clue
any suggestions . .. .
thanks

its inside the gas tank, usually you have to take off the muffler, drop the rear end, and then drop the gas tank.

i paid $45 for mine, used from a salvage yard.

edit: the other possiblility is that your actual gauge is broken, i highly doubt it though

i would recommend just living with it. its going to cost you a lot of money to have it done or a lot of time to do it yourself.
