500+ hp engine combo
ok...what can i do to build a 500+ engine, the cheapest way? what heads/cam/intake would provide the best results?
350? 355lt4? 383 stroer? 403 stroker?
it also needs to be able to withstand a say, 150-200hp hit of nitrous.
all i need to do, is run a 10.39...got a little bit of a grudge match with a friend in germany who is running a 10.4 with a 435ci with is getting about 680hp
thanks

Go to the AirFlow Research internet site and check out their chevy smallblock combos
using AFR heads and intakes. This will give you an idea... You'll also need a bullit proof trans/converter and rear end setup.

Claims by people who sell a product are always a little padded.
Your best bet would be to build up a 400.
I'm looking into doing the same thing...my goal is about 550 ponies or so, good idle, and all of that good stuff.

To run 10.4s on the motor in a 3600lb car you need more than 500engine hp. You need almost 600hp. I hope your planning on using the spray to get that number.
If this is a real LT1 combination, your looking at something like this.

Otherwise, think about a real 400 small block with 18degree heads.
