what kind of roller rockers do i have??

well i was told i was getting trick flow roller rockers, but can anyone tell me what they are

they have 11-1.60 and A-10 stamped on every one.

they are black, and bulky, here is a picture

i need to know if they are self aligning or not, because this might be my problem.

i have trick flow twisted wedge heads with rocker studs and guide plates. and the rocker is shaving away on the bottom hitting the stud or guide plate.

here is a pic of the rockers:

Turn the rocker over. If there is a washer on each side of the roller bearing they are self-aligning. I have no clue what rockers those are, the picture shows nothing.

Those are not self-aligning. And have a 1.6:1 lift ratio. Don't know the manufacturer though

What heads are you using these on? If your using them on heads that originally had self-aligning rockers you need to run guide plates. If the heads used the cast slot on the head they will work fine. But if you want to use these rockers and guide plates on heads with the cast slot then you need to drill out the slot so there is no interference issues with the slot guides.

If this is for your 86 heads, you will have to look at them closely because that was the "conversion" year from slot aligned to self-aligning.

The "11-1.60" leads me to believe they are an older non-gold aluminum race CraneCams design. Can't be sure though. My gold aluminum race rockers had similar stampings but were narrower and anodized gold.

ok, the polylock are an inch long, pretty big.

maybe my rocker studs are too long, because if you look in the picture above, of underneath you see its been rubbing on something and chipping the roller rocker, im guessing its hitting the rocker stud?

maybe mine is too short, how can i tell what to do?

maybe get different roller rockers??

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
I can't guess at what kind of rockers those are; beyond just being aluminum, and therefore inappropriate for the street.

Looks to me like your push rods are too short, and you have to adjust the rockers so low on the stud as a result, that they're smashing their trunnion on the guide plates.

PolyLocks are about an inch long. So those aren't big ones, they're quite normal. Ones for a stud girdle are bigger.

Your damage isn't a result of the rocker studs being too long.

I would recommend different rockers; specifically steel ones. Either Comp or Crower, not the Chinese CAT knockoffs, unless you want to be the guinea pig for finding out if they'll survive and not fill your engine with little needle bearing shrapnel unexpectedly. And of course, the right length push rods; which can only be determined by testing and measurement, AFTER ALL OTHER PARTS of the valve train are in place, installed and ready to operate.
