What the heck is wrong ,rpms stay way up when car is hot

When my car is really warm up i mean hot,i will be driving and when i shift the rpms saty up sometimes i will stopped at a light and i'll be at 2000 rpms and my foot is off the throttle, when i tap the throttle they will drop down to regular idle what the heck is wrong.Could be the throttle plates sticking when the gunk in the plenum gets hot and gooey.someone help it is pissing me off.

Clean the throttle body, and you may very well find the the throttle shaft has elongated the TB on the side of the linkage causing a vacuum leak and sticking throttle. "You can see the scuffing in the throttle bore where the plates are sticking!"

Cheap fix for the return is using an additional return spring but does nothing for the vacuum leak which must be fixed.

Bottom line, you MAY find a shop that can fix what you have depending on how far it is worn, buy rebuilt, or you can go the next size aftermarket TB from stock which is 52mm, I think that this largest size TB that will work without having to reworking your intake, and 58mm requires you rework the intake where it bolts up, but this is easy enough to check out!

Good Luck & Happy Thanksgiving!
