the spline count doesn't matter as long as the axles and carrier match, or you're willing to change one or the other to match. don't be foolish and let something so easily fixed like spline count get in your way.

i know about the splines and carrier size but what cars can i take one out of to put into mine i know s10's will fit but anything else?

If its for your 87 in your avatar watch out, thats right around the time they went from the 7.5 26 spline to 7.625 28 spline 10 bolts if your looking to do just a carrier swap.
