Why is my car vibrating?

Whenever I'm in 4th gear going at above 3 grand on the tach (my speedometer doesn't work ) the car starts to shake. I know its not the transmission, so my only guess is the wheels or the drive shaft. Anyone ever have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks!

Have your tires' balanced checked for starters. Could also be driveshaft.

Axle/Gears: It's a volvo?
could be something as simple as engine mounts, if it happens upon first gear acceleration and the car vibrates it is most definitely engine mounts.

Highly doubt thats it...

If its only at high speed not high rpm in all gears its something after the trans.

How do I check to see if it's the driveshaft?

First check your trans mount to see if the rubber part is cracked or broken. Next, accelerate to the speed it occurs & slip it into neutral & see goes away or stays. If it stays it's happening from the driveshaft back. On a 700R4 in 4th gear the driveshaft is turning 30% faster than the engine, so any driveshaft imbalance will be magnified. Have the wheels balanced & see if it goes away. Also have the wheels checked for runout while they are on the balancer (or ask for the tech to do it). This will eliminate the simplest thing. If it is still there look into an aluminum driveshaft from a 4th gen.

ok, I know it's not the transmount, because I had the whole thing rebuilt a few weeks ago.
The vibrating still happens when I drop into neutral at high speeds but sometimes the car doesn't rumble at all (it's rare) at high speeds, which leads me to belive that it has to be a balance issue.
O and what do you mean check for runout?
