Which 350 to rebuild?

Im going to rebuild a 350 and I need to know which short block is best to start with. I want to use the crank, rods, and pistons. Heads, intake, cam, carb, Im going to buy. Is there any advantage to getting an lt1 if I'm only using the short block? Thanks for your help.

If you get an LT-1 block you will have to get the LT-1, LT-4 heads, they're reverse flow and so is the LT-1 block. You will also need the LT-1/4 intake and opti system, unless you plan to convert to carb(pita).
hope any of this helps, I love my LT-1 but the parts are a little more expensive than reg 350's and not much is really interchageable between gen I and gen II small blocks.
