It sounds like you have poor connection, or you may have ECM/wiring damage.

Watch the "Check Engine" lamp closely when you turn on the ignition (with no jumper in the ALDL). It should turn on for about ¼ second, turn off for about ¼ second, then turn back on and remain on. Does the lamp do this?

Ok i went out this morning to take a look at that, with no jumper in the adli turned the keyfoward check engine light on started the car there was no change in the light at all with exception of a slight dim from cranking the car over, but definatly no blinking. Thanks for the help thus far what should i do next???

Before cranking, just turn the ignition on. The lamp should "bounce" once then. You should also hear the MC solenoid in the carb cycling, I believe.

You should get code 12 as a self diagnostic for the computor when you jumper the ALDL.It always begins with this code and ends with it.I would do what Vader suggested and check all your connections/wiring/grounds.Corrosion/moisture can get into the connections and play havoc with it.Also when you swapped out your computor did you reuse your chip or the one it had in it?What was she doing when you started having problems?

If the SES lamp does not do the little ¼-second flash when the ignition is turned on (without cranking - Just the ignition), the ECM may have problems. Start by checking and re-seating the connectors at the ECM (battery disconnected). If that doesn't help, you may have to open the ECM and check the MEMCAL/CALPAK adapter and connections.

Also when you swapped out your computor did you reuse your chip or the one it had in it?What was she doing when you started having problems?

When i swaped the computer i used the same chip.... When i started having problems it began with the wire that melted on my manifold and threw my ces light oni couldnt get any codes or anything so i went and got a new computer but still same problem it gets bad gas mileage and deisles of those are really the problems and of course the check engine light wont go off and i dont knwo if there are more problems either.

I will check all the connections as for the MEMCAL/CALPAK is that the chip or something else?? thanks for all the elp thus far i put so much into the darn car new engine tranny carb computer nick nacks here and there and i wann get this over with so i can finish her if you know what i mean thanks guys ill let you know what happens

Check the connections on this, both the top side and underside:

You may end up having to resolder some connections or intall a socket:
