spark plug wire selection (will these work)

I kinda like my wires to be pretty much invisable so i was looking at braided stainless and that sorta deal wires. I found 2 different sets that should fit my application both sets being a 8mm spirowound taylor wires 1 is stainless steel braided wires the others are braided tin coated copper wires (these being 50 dollars cheaper than the first i talked about and the 1s i'd buy). they are the taylor sst ignition wires which run for 49.00 bucks not to bad.... .

Question would be would these fit a 1992 camaros 305tbi. I noticed on the listing summit shows them as only fitting on the 1982-1986. Still not sure why they wouldn't work on a tbi 1992 motor but, what do i know..... If i have to assemble them myself thats not a big deal either. i'd just like to know that they'd fit before i buy them. Probably would be best to just call summit and ask but, being that it's crhistmas eve and tomorow is christmas that's probably a no go.

I always get the universal sets that you have to cut and put boots on so I can make every thing fit the way I want and not have a wire mess.

Same here. Also pick up a set of crimpers. Makes the job much faster and cleaner.

i own some crimpers and i suppose i'll just do it myself then thanks!

The 1 drawback to these braided metal wires is they need grounded but, o well can hide that too i'm sure.

Hi guys 1 last question. I've searched a couple times through summit and can't find them *unassembled*. They also don't show any that fit my 1992 motor.

Heres the new question, will the taylor 8mm sst ignition wires work on my car if they do work on a 1982-1986 5.0 camaro motor (i wouldn't see why not but, am not quite sure........) They say it doesn't include those with tbi motors but, i can't figure out why in my head.

Both have the dizzy in the rear of the manifold and both are routed underneath the manifolds i beleive right?

Ps. got some pimpin new chrome valve covers for christmas, i'll be ordering the mr. gasket ultra seal gasket for it and some aluminum t-bar wing nuts after i figure out the spark plug issue (would like to order these at the same time).

Stay away from the Taylors at all costs!!!! They will be cross sparking on you in no time. I went through hell trying to track down random ignition problems then one night when the car was running in the dark I could see sparks shooting out of them everywhere, I'm not the only one who's had this problem either. I switched to a set of Accel 8mm (300 series I believe, OLD) and swapped on some MSD ends they work A1 and have taken me through 2 summers so far. Those Taylors didn't last 500 miles!!!

I think it's because the 89-92 wires have an extra wire for the coil. Remember the later model HEI distributors have the seperate coil.

Pre -88 HEIs have the coil in cap so it won't have the extra wire for a coil.

That's not to say the 82-88 wires won't work in your 92...you just need to get another wire for your coil.

As for plug wires, I've used them all....Taylors, Accels, MSD, Delcos, etc. I like the MSDs and Delco's personally. Main thing is take the time to route them properly and you shouldn't have any problems. I also recommend the universal wires for this purpose.

can't beleive it didn't dawn on me as that being why lol... Thanks for pointing out the obvious reason!

As for routing the wires i'm sure your right universal would be best. I suppose i'll just get some msd super conducters or heli cores like every1 else.

I just liked the idea of having braided spark plug wires (sounds kool looking in theory).
