I'm changing my oil today to this type.
Can I really go 15K on this oil? Basically, I don't even drive the car 5K a year but going a year without an oil change because the oil can take it is an attractive proposition.
Any thoughts?

I've been doing 25k/1 year oil changes since 1983.
Not sure I'd try it with this downgraded "Extended Life" marketing ploy stuff, though. . .

I don't beat on my car. Just wanted to say that.
OK then... I'm going to run this oil all year (on my current plan to not drive it over 5K miles). 4 bucks for 5 quarts and a filter once a year... sounds like a plan to me.

"Regular" Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic is about $21 for a five quart jug. A PF25 is another $3.49. That usually lasts me a year. Then again, I only put about 300 miles on the antique last year. It doesn't get any cheaper than that to change oil, so why even bother with the mineral oil stuff?

You can go 15k on regular oil. Do you want to? I dunno. I've never been good about changing oil and I've never had a problem. I am confident that the 3k stuff is BS....BS from people who want to sell you more oil and more filters.
