lt1 4 cylinder?

i just recently installed a lt1 in a 90 camaro tbi 305 car <rs> i started the car up for the first time. only 4 cylinders are working. 1 2 3 4, <5678 are not>
so i check the spark. its good and hot. i check to see if i have a constant 12v on the injector with the key in the run position. i do. so i started wondering. hrm. am i getting a pulse? so i decide to check for continuity. i unplugged the ecu. took the red plug <plug that plugs in the ecu containing all the injector pulses> i did a continuity test on each wire. all injector pulse wires have continuity to the ecu from the injector. this tells me the wiring is good and in place. i take the red plug that goes to the ecm again. and i decide to see if the ground for that red plug is hooked up. so i take my dc volt meter. i put the black lead to the ground pin in the red harness. then take the red lead and put it to the + on the battery. im showing 12 volts. which tells me that i have a proper ground on the harness. according to shbox.com the red harness controls all the 8 injectors. why is only 4 injectors working? only the front for? thanks guys.

You might have a bad injector driver. Are you getting any codes?

As long as the fuel rails are off, mark each of the injectors with a piece of masking tape or something to identify their locations, remove them, then inspect the inlet screens on each injector. Clean out all you can, and reinstall the injectors in different locations. See if the problem repeats, or if it moves with the injectors.

BTW - Did you check the resistance of each injector solenoid?

resistance on all 8 range from 12.2 - 12.7 ohms.

i would try switching them around, note their original locations and put the working ones in place of the misfires and see if the that corrects the missing cylinders, if that is the case, get new injectors (wouldn't hurt to do anyway, if they are old)

<update> with the help of a noid light i have came to the followth. <please oh please someone help me!>
the car starts good. rounds good. soon as its droped in gear the car starts missing. continues to miss. soon as its put into neutral or park it continues to miss real bad. while watching my watch. 30 seconds and it picks up again. sounds good again. soon as its put into gear. it starts missing again. park.neutral, and 30 seconds it picks up. i now have all cylinders hitting but one. i noticed one is still painted even tho it dont sound like much of a miss. im confused. i can do this also. put the car in gear. <starts missing really bad> put a noid light on it, put the car in neutral. 30 seconds engine picks up and noid light starts blinking at the exact same second.

Probably not bad injectors, just stuck from sitting. Put everything back together, start the engine, now firmly rap on the stuck injectors with the handle end of a screwdriver or the like. They should free and it will start injecting fuel.

used some carb cleaner on them. they now seem to pulse and shoot in park <layed fuel raid upside down and watched them mist.> but its still missing in gear really really bad. whats wierd is its timed. exactly 30 sconds after beingshifted into gear it picks up and sounds normal. soon as you touch the gas it dies and starts missing again

maybe you have that new fangled displacement on demand thing

maybe you need to go get your injectors cleaned. look for cruzin performance on google or if you have a local machine shop mabe ask if they have a injector cleaner machine or call around. while the injectors might not be stuck they might not be injecting the fuel in as high of a quantity as they should OR maybe they are creating droplets rather then injecting a fine mist

You had an RS right? With the TBI motor? Did you put the proper fuel pump in? The LT1 fuel pump is over 40psi im sure, where as the tbi pump is like 8-12 or someting. That would definitely cause a weird problem

i had finally figured it out. wheni installed 2 plugs i was tal;king to a buddy and didnt look at the gap. the plugs apparently had been damaged from advance auto and the capping was closed, and when i ordered the lt1 aparently it had set awhile and 1 injector was plugged. >i took and layed the fuel rail upside down and watched the injectors sqirt. then checked the harness witha noid light<
