Do I need my Alternator Braket?

I hope not because i cut it off...but does this bracket (that runs from the back of the alternator to the exhaust manafold) really do anything?...is it necessary to have? As you know, the Alternator is supported by (3) bolts that scre into the fron side of the mounting bracket....these bolt are more than enough to support the alternator even under heavy tension from the belt...

Yes, my AC has a brace just like that, a little longer, it attaches to the manifolds, but I started to notice the AC shakes REAL bad without it, now im stuck going to the junkyard to find it.

You do need it, because ive been told my AC Bracket will break if I dont find the right brace for it, and your alternator will shake just as bad without the brace for support.

And if you have a higher output CS144 alternator, you can actually have the alternator break off its mounts and fall off.. I'd put the brace back on, though its not as critical with a CS130 as is pictured.
