I am having the exact same problem and suspect the throttle position sensor. I only have problems on warm afternoons, however. My local mechanic wasn't able to diagnose the problem. Please let me know what you find!

Had the Same problem
Well i had the same problem and i swear it was like a phantom problem. The car would run fine for a while then die when i hit the gas. I replaced every sensor in the car, the prom chip, the computer itself, i mean everything. finally i sent the car to a mechanic and it was the wires that connect to the coolant tempature sensor. If they are bad or are shorting out they cause the injectors of the car to go pig rich.
If the sensor was totally shorted or disconnected it would show up on the check engine light. But in my situation the sensor was working but was telling the computer that my car was in negative 33 degree weather causing the car to go super rich.
All the super camaro freaks out there say that can't be causing the injectors to do that but after the wires were fixed my car was purring nice.
Oh i forgot to mention, my car would only do it on hot days at first also. it got worse over a week or two time frame

As far as I can see in this forum this is VERY common problem for v6 and other engines when you ride at 20-40 km/h and engine dies despite of smooth idle at park. With my car I had the same for a pretty long time. Now the problem is resolved.
Here is the procedure.
Conditions:
1) correct spark advance
2) no ignition problems (good plugs, wires and distributor)
3) no big vacuum leaks
4) good IAC
Now to do:
1) screw out throttle adjustment bolt untill throttle is completely closed
2) turn on ignition and wait 5 sec.
3) disconnect IAC plug
4) run the engine
5) turn throttle adjustment bolt untill engine revvs up suddenly (you need to find this threshold) and add 1/2 turns more
6) shut off engine
7) connect IAC
8) disconnect negative battery cable to reset ECM
9) connect battery
10) run engine
That's all.

p.s. the problem was in incorrect throttle adjustment.

90-92 v6 camaros hate vacuum leaks..check the brake booster, the fuel pressure regulator, and the divertor valve. My car died at every light and my booster was junk..I played/replaced with every sensor with no change. The fuel regulator and divertor valve are tied together by those cheap plastic lines that everybody touches and it breaks. If you have no check engine light I would say you have a vacuum leak.

the car will now idle OK with the vac line to the map sensor and the tps unplugged if you plug up the vac line the rpm will go up and down till it dies if you plug up the tps it will rev up and die and you will see gas spit out of the throttle body
