Ok here's the deal.. I have been having trouble with the car starting.. Checked the battery, dead cell, so I replaced it. Voltage check on Alternator showed low volt output, so I replaced it. Also replaced negative battery cable and put in a Hitachi starter for good measure. Still the starting was an issue.. If I let it sit for a couple of days it would take a while cranking to get it going. So I checked and the timing was a bit off, so I set it to 2btdc It now starts and idle's fine. But when I go to drive down the street it hesitates.. When I mash the throttle it does nothing, takes like 2-3 seconds before it starts to accelerate, then it is more of a 4 cyl. acceleration, than the 305 that's in it...
As of 3-4 months ago, new fuel injectors, new MSD cap, rotor, wires, Bosch sparkplugs.
Also, hooked up the trusty Datamaster laptop... The only 2 things that stuck out were, LTerm-P Percent = -15.6 and MAP = 71.6 both at idle.
Thanks for any insight.

Hey Scan,
This may sound absurd, but have you checked your fuel injector fuses? I had a very similer problem: hard starting, slow acceleration, etc. and I was going crazy until by pure chance I noticed that my F*****G brother "borrowed" a fuse from my fuse block for his firebird, which was one of my injector fuses. I replaced the fuse and the car ran great. Couldn't hurt to at least take a look. Sorry in advance if I wasted your time.

HAHA... Thank god, I don't have any brothers that live close to me..
I would think that would have thrown a SES light?? Anyhow, thanks for the tip, not wasting my time at all.. Just wish I could try it right away and let you know..
When I eventually get home from this aweful business trip to New England, I will try all the suggestions.. Thanks 87IROC!!

Just posting my own thoughts to check myself when I finally get home:
Fuel Relay
Fuel Filter
Injector Fuses
Fuel Pressure
Fuel Pump
Throttle position sensor??

Now, I'm really getting frustrated....
Still the same problem.. No throttle response.. I mean I have to pusht the pedal to the floor to get the thing to start crawling... Engine seems to idle fine. No engine codes or anything..
I have done the following:
Replace Fuel Filter
Checked injector fuses (a ok)
Checked Fuel Pressure (it failed originally, and was diagnosed according to the service manual to be the FUel Pressure Regulator I replaced it and it is fine now)
Fuel Pressure holds at 41lbs.....
So what else can be wrong???????? Please help, I am going nuts
and the wife is hounding me
to buy a new car!!

So.. I am still stuck... I put new fuel injectors in a few months ago, no problems, but the originals had 130k and so I thouhgt for good measure I would replace. What would happen if the fuel injectors are wrong??
I was told to get Ford 22# that matched the fuel flow of the factory Delco 19#. Would that cause the bogging that I have????

what about a vacuum leak . When mine had one the throttle was mushy. But it wouldn't hold an idle without some throttle input.

Well, I found my problem last night.... My distributor was "walking". I had a friend suggest the timing chain maybe stretched (and it still could be). So I checked the timing and it was all out of whack. I checked the distributor and a tick mark I had made as a reference several months back was off where it should have been. I could barely move the distributor with both hands. Loosened the bolt and reset the timing to 8 and it purrs like a kitten!!
Not sure if maybe I didn't tighten it all the way the last time or what...
