Please Help! My Car Is Smoking!!!

Ok I just got done replacing one of the valve cover gaskets, changing the oil and filter(used 20w50) and thats it. When im sitting at a stop my car just puffs out white smoke out of the tail pipes. It also blows a big cloud of white smoke when I get on it or move from a stand still! WTF???? Why would it be smoking? I think it was puffing a little white smoke every now and then before I did all that but NOTHING like this.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also I have an oil leak from the intake manifold. I need to replace the gaskets but man that is gonna be a B$%^&!

You either have abad head gasket, or when you changed your oil you contaminated the oil somehow. I am leaning towards bad head gasket though. Check your dip stick and see if it is milky. If you are daring enough taste a tiny bit and spit it out, if it taste like mountain dew you have some coolant in it. Dont ask me how I know

Could it be that coolant is leaking in from the intake? I really dont want to have to change a head gasket... or let alone try. Im getting flustered just thinking about having to change my intake gaskets on friday

My car was not puffing white smoke, but my intake manifold gaskets were ****ty as all hell. I replaced those and actually did take off the heads to check the gaskets just in case (what a pain in the *** job that was). The head gaskets were just fine. How did the oil look when you replaced it? How is the car running? bad oil + a lot of white smoke could mean bad head gasket.

The car is running fine except for the leak from the front of the intake and the white smoke... the oil looked like normal worn out oil when your change it. I want to exhaust every possible issue besides head gaskets before I just rip into the engine. This is my daily driver for work and play so I cant have a half built block to play with for a few days at a time.

Yes a leaky intake gasket could possibly leak coolant into your lifter valley.
Thats an easy fix and takes no time at all. Change that first see where you are at, you might be lucky

if it's leaking from the intake you'll know as soon as the intake comes off....it will look like someone dumped a chocolate milkshake in there

yeah thats true... youd want that stuff out too... after you replace your intake id recommend some sort of motor flush depending how many miles you have... if you have alot then forget it, just change the oil again drive it for a while then change it again.
