Problems bolting up pan

Well I had to beat the hell out of the new oil pan to make it go over the K-member and now that its on, when I go to raise it and bolt it up, you can only get one side to align and bolt up, and this makes the other side go too far from the lower deck to bolt it up. What can I do to get both sides fine and even as well as bolt up? Please help guys, this is really getting to me because I cant make it work. Thank you for any help guys.

you bent the hell out of the pan. Replace the pan, and make it fit in a gentler way?

Replace the pan
Right... but most importantly, with one that actually fits. You've got a basically bone stock 170 HP car, you don't need anything exotic. Just get the right pan and call it a day.

Well, sounds like now it's a mangled one. Why,exactly, are you replacing it in the first place?
I've never done a pan in chassis, and I most likely wouldn't.IMO,you could have the engine out, swap the pan,and back in hooking stuff back up in the time it would take to fight with it on your back.

but its beat all to hell which is why it doesnt line up.

By another oil pan like it (or even a $30 stock oil pan from autozone like I did) and put it in, but leave the mallet in the toolbox.

No; it's the other way around. It's beat up because it doesn't fit.

It doesn't fit, because it's the wrong one. There is no other explanation. The right one would fit; any pan that doesn't fit, is the wrong one, by the definiton of the word "wrong".

It may be "stock", but it obviously isn't "stock" for one of these cars. Just like your steering wheel or something; it might be "stock" for your car, but it isn't "stock" for a van, or a Caprice, or an Aveo.

Just go get the right pan for the car, and it will fit; put it on, and enjoy driving the car instead of working on it.

And this time, make sure the PVC is all hooked up and works right so that it keeps the moisture out of the oil, and keep the oil changed, so that the oil isn't all full of water, and then the new one won't rot out too.

Nope all oil has been taken care of since I got it, it was the last owners fault. I am so perfect with my car, that people cant even touch my dash while in the car or I will yell at them.

I agree. I get compliments on my car all the time. Probably because most of them around here have at least one body panel in primer, and the rest of the car is dull lol
