New engine leaking oil
New engine leaking oil
I go to start the new engine today and after 2 minutes at 2000 rpms to break in the cam oil starts leaking out of the oil pan right under the timing cover. I'm using the old oil pan but I flattened out the edges before I put it on. I ran a search and read up on the debate between using a sealent on gaskets or leaving them dry. Right now I'm using a cork gasket with rtv. Could this be the problem? Do you think I should get a one piece rubber gasket and just try that, or while I'm at it bite the bullet and get a new pan? Thanks
