after doing it, i thought it was a waste of my money, but im not sure of your situation . if your car is currently running...i suggest just buying all your parts and doing and engine building party with some "knowledgeable" friends.. keep running what you got if that the case. if the car is "down" then do what you have to do in order to get it running but save for the bigger project..after i had mine redone i wish i would have waiting a few more months"to save" and got what i really wanted.( a badass set of aluminum heads) that would be big enough for if and when i decided to go bigger. the stock sytle heads dont give you that option the diiference to me is what do you want to run. i wanted to be in the 10's...again hope this helps. btw i bought my afr's from a dealer through ebay. i have afr 227 race ready heads on my 383 stroker. i paid 1450 including shipping and they were milled down to 66cc's. arrived at my door in 4 days. if you buy off ebay but call them make sure you tell them you found them off ebay and you get the internet priceing.
also on a side note. i still have those heads i had rebuilt they have been sitting for 2 yrs in my house. if intrested in them pm ill let them go real cheap save you even more money if thats the route you wanna go.pm me for any info on them
