lift for stock heads?

lift for stock heads?

does anyone know how much lift stock heads on a 91 305tpi can take?

I think I've read somewhere that you don't go above .470 lift, could be wrong though. Don't know the exact specs either

from what i've read the max lift you can go is around .480"

and what ive gathered for the stock TPI cam for your 91 is

203 INT 207 EXH .413" INT .428" EXH and 114 LSA

If you want to go past .480" and run positive valve seals than you will need to have the valve guides machined. It would also be a good time to remove the stock pressed in studs in favor of screw in ones, otherwise you risk pulling them with a high lift cam.

whats a good all around cam? would a .474 int and ext be good?

no you can't re-use your pushrods if going to flat tappet. You'll need "regular" length flat tappet pushrods. I don't know the # offhand.

You don't want to downgrade to a flat tappet cam though, stick with a roller. mkos suggested a good one.
