Perimeter bolt valve covers? I'm just using a set of the Summit house brand reusable ones- rubber with a steel spine. I won't say they seal up perfectly (pretty close), but that's not why I bought them- I wanted their reusability since I'm always futzing around in my motors. If I was just doing the job once I'd use a good set of cork/rubber gaskets with a wafer-thin smear of RTV on both sides.

FYI- do yourself a favor and get a set of valve cover STUDS. It's SOOOOO much easier than dealing with bolts. Not only will it hold and line up everything properly every time it also eliminates the possibility of getting a bolt started cross-threaded and stripping out the tiny valve cover threads. It's nightmarishly easy to cross-thread and/or strip out those threads on an aluminum head. Mr. Gasket, Moroso, etc.

I'm using some rubber gasket from the local Napa. They don't leak a drop (if they're put on right )
