Engine Life points
I'm removing my TPI engine very soon and I want to take it out with all the accessories attached but with the tranny left in the car (its a manual). I have read about hooks that GM used to install the engine but I don’t see them in the driver’s front or passenger’s rear. So I was thinking on lifting it from the intake bolt holes, one in the front driver’s and one in the passenger’s rear and I plan on using grade 8 bolts for the removal. Is this a way to take an engine out? Or is it too dangerous? Another thing is, if I did it that way would the bolted chain links bend or break because of the 90-degree angle that the bolted link is at? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Just use the front two and rear two intake manifold holes. Balances the weight. I perfer to take the transmission out with the engine though. Plenty easy.
