"Guideplates Included: Yes"
That means non-self-aligning rockers should be used.

Ok thanks. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get the wrong part for it.

Thanks five7, that was a tidbit that I was unaware of - and it helps to answer the question that I had in the rocker arm thread that I started...
One other thing to be aware of is that if you're using guideplates, you'll want to make sure that you use hardened pushrods (not to be "Captain Obvious", but some people don't know).

You need one method of locating the rocker. If you have more than one, you'll create a binding situation.
The common methods are: pushrod pass-through slot in the head (the "original" SBC method); guideplates (used on aluminum heads, typically); and self-aligning rockers. The pushrod pass-through in the head is opened to a round hole for heads with either the guideplates or self-aligning rockers.

Re: roller rocker help needed.
Hey I just read that other post and I never even realized that 1.5rr are to wide or big for the centerbolt valve covers. And I was wondering if they are then what choices would I have for my heads?

Re: roller rocker help needed.
You'll need narrow-body rocker arms for centerbolt valve covers - and you can get 'em in 1.5 or 1.6 ratios...
(The issue that I have is that since I'm using 7/16" studs, I can't use narrow-body rocker arms, thus I can't use centerbolt valve covers like I'd prefer...)

Re: roller rocker help needed.
Good question.
I'm rapidly approaching the same dilemma.
I can't positively confirm this, but supposedly
GMPP offers a full roller rocker 1.6, 3/8 stud
that is compatible with center-bolt valve covers.
They occasionally appear on e-bay.
Can anyone confirm the existence of the items?

Well if I can't get them what should I do? I thought I could get 1.5rr for my centerbolt valve covers. But since I can't can anyone tell me what I should do?

Comp Pro Magnums. Probably the best roller rocker out there.

You're using the 72cc chamber and not the 64? I have the original TFS 23d
heads with 64cc. On stock Corvette pistons, my CR is about 10.3:1. But
they are great heads. Great bang for the buck.

Re: roller rocker help needed.
hmm... i just bought aluminum heads with guide plates. i have a set of summit narrow body, self aligning, 1.6, aluminum roller rockers. that i planned on running. does this mean i can just ditch the guide plates? and just run the self aligners? i surely don't want to spend anymore money right now.

Re: roller rocker help needed.
Yeah I'm using the 72cc because I've changed the motor to a 383 stroker and put flattop forged pistions and rods in it with the 72cc heads I'll prob. be around a 9.7 to 1 compression ratio which is good for pump gas and nitrous later if I want to. Matched with a t-56 I should be getting the best of both worlds good gas mileage and 1/4 mile and topend speed so I can run with all the newer cars out there.
