I'm curious too. Most people want to go from V-belt TO serp.

Re: How do you switch from serpentine to v-belt?

Maybe cause its easier to run a setup like alternator/waterpump or alternator/waterpump/ps pump and no AC or air pump. Unlike the serp setup where you have to run delete pulleys to keep the tensioner, its just brackets on the passenger side of the motor and takes up space/weight/cluster.

V belt the alternator could go to either side to kinda "balance" the look.

I considered it but i doubt id do it.

Just curious could i use the same alternator/ps pump and just swap pulleys?

Yes you can swap pullies (i couldent use a newer power steering pump with my aftermarket bracket tho), have to get a new water pump also. The serp water pumps turn backwards.

couldnt you do that with the serp set up and just remove the AC/ smog pulleys... seems like it would be easy

No because the belt tensioner would not be useable which is needed by the serp set up
