Car wont start

A little bit of a backgroud. Car is a 91 Camaro RS 5.0 TBI.

The car ran fine, and parked it for the weekend. Went to start it a few days ago, nothing... Just a clicking sound every time i turn the key coming from under the dash on the drivers side.

I am starting to think starter relay since that the clicking sound is coming from that general area...

Thoughts?

Re: Car wont start

Sounds like your battery is dead. Something may have drained while it sat over the weekend. Try jump starting it

Re: Car wont start

Try a different battery, the old might be bad and unable to take a charge

Re: Car wont start

I once had an RS that did the same thing...turned out to be a fusible link up by the battery somewhere. (if I remember correctly)

Re: Car wont start

We tried a brand new battery with same outcome. Just even attempt to turn over, just a weird clicking sound under the dash.

Will check the fuse able link on the starter, another other thoughts tho?

Re: Car wont start

Take the starter into autozone and have them test it.

Re: Car wont start

Have someone hold the ignition to the start position while you check voltage at the solenoid. if there's voltage there, your problem is the starter.
