89 Camaro RS 2.8

Car will idle real low. When i go to pull out in first gear i lose power and it makes a popping noise from the intake.

Re: 89 Camaro RS 2.8

i did and the timing is fine. I was told it could be the computer or a baro/map sensor.

IIRC the cars switched to SD with the 3.1, so yours would have a MAF sensor, not a MAP sensor.

Re: 89 Camaro RS 2.8

Well i had it hooked up to a computer today and it came up with a bad coolant sensor, a bad throttle position sensor, a bad vechile speed sensor, egr failure, bad ESC, and a rich oxygen sensor. I don't know what would make all of them sensors go bad like that but i had the ECM computer replaced today and it didn't fix the problem. So i am so lost.

What controls the voltage for the whole car cause everything that is supposably wrong has to do with voltage problems either too high or too low.

Ok I know this a old thread, but I have been searching through a lot of threads trying to figure out what my Problem might be. My car has ran great for over a year. I replaced my cat a few weeks ago. A few days before changing it the engine light came on. So I had the guy that changed my cat run a code check on it. Many codes came up. the mechanic told me to buy the temp sensor and throttle position sensor and start there. Funny thing was the car ran great, i said would the car even run if all these things were wrong? He said lets just do it. So I bought the parts but have not had them put on yet. Today when I drove the car, when I turn it over started and died. Then started and drove. Came back home, went to drive again and this time turned it over maybe 6 or 7 times then drove it. So i was wondering if maybe my ECM could be bad, the quote above seems like the guy had the same problem. Sorry I have went on and on. Just looking for some advice. I have a 2.8 V6 and try to do some of the work myself, but being a women i have a hard time getting some stuff on and off the car.

Oh and could it be a voltage problem?
