What is this sound... High Pitched

My car only does it at wide open throttle. Tranny shop said my tranny was fine. At wot, my car makes a loud high pitched squeel. It does it until you let off. Normal driving, the noise is gone, it is just wot. Engine only has 11,000 miles. Is it a vacuum leak or a hose or something?

Re: What is this sound... High Pitched

Why would it only make the noise @ wot? Wouldn't a loose belt make the noise at idle and in any gear?

No, it will make it if I put it in drive, Hit the gas and the brake at the same time though.

In the old days, I would have said to check for a broken engine mount. That isn't as much of a problem with 3rd gens, though. Except for the tranny mount - did the tranny shop check that?

Re: What is this sound... High Pitched

Could be a bad tensioner causing the belt to get slack and start losing it's position at higher RPM's.
