Open differential on the dyno, will it work OK???
I am taking a week of vacation at the end of the month here from Dec 25th to Jan 2nd. I am hoping to get my car on the dyno at some point during that week but realized something. I am still running an open differential. I don't have the money to buy the rear end yet, but want to get the fuel mixtures squared away and get everything tuned up where it needs to be. I have heard some stories from people that it is not a good idea to run an open differential car on the dyno, especially with a high HP car because it can blow the tires off on the dyno rollers. Is this even possible?? I would have thought that they would strap this thing down really tight, and I shouldn't have to worry about the tires spinning at WOT.

I figured as much. I kinda feel stupid for even asking, but I guess that I was looking for this huge horror story to come tearing out of the woodwork, and for everyone to tell me to wait until I got my ford 9 inch with the detroit locker before I strapped her on the rollers....
