Stupid people shouldn't try to do things that they know they probrobly shouldn't
With that being said, I'm completely clueless as to why my car won't start. Having given up once more on aggressively completing this, I've decided to ask for help again.. Yeah, i are stupid people. I turn key, acc works. turn little more to crank and the car shorts or something.. i hate wires.. I can take off a battery cable and put it back on to re-establish current, but the end result is the same. I'm in no real hurry for the car to get back on the road, but I do miss driving it and I'd kinda feel bad if I couldn't get it to run again. 86' 305 berlinetta. Thanks,

You can charge your battery.
Load test your battery. If you don't have the tester, parts stores will do it free.
Apply 12v directly to your starter.
Check and clean your wiring connections at battery and starter.

sounds like what my berlinetta likes to do...but it's usually because my battery wires aren't fully tightened, may also be the dead battery. My berly has done exactly what yours is doing, i would suggest charging the battery all night, compltely wire brush and clean the battery studs (replace if they are old, corroded and nasty looking...only like $3 for new set), clean the battery terminals, reinstall them completely and secure, make sure they are in as much as possible, and then disconnect the ground wire that comes off the battery at the chassis, give that a little bit of sanding , sand the body a little bit to ensure propper connection, reattatch, and paint so that it will not rust. If all that doesn't give you a running vehicle again it may be something else. Doing all that got my berly to start any time every time. Good luck!

I second what 84redta said. My 84 Z28 had the exact same problem until I tightened down the battery connections.
