Obd 1 Didnt read my computer HELP

Obd 1 Didnt read my computer HELP

Okay i took my 87' firebird formula down to Advanced auto parts. And had them read my codes. They hooked it up and it didnt even read my computer.
The prob with the car:
I will start it an it runs great no Ses light is on during this time. Then i will drive it around for about 5 min then the car bogs down while im at a constant throttle. then the ses light comes on. Its like it looses all of its power.

are you sure the scanner they used was meant for obd 1? I know autozone does the same thing but their scanner don't do obd 1. You can get the cheapy code reader, about $20.00 plugs in and make the "service enginge light" blink so you can count the blinks and that equats to the codes.

you beat me too it. i actually had a guy try to sell me that thing at Kragen when i went down there to buy my autoXray. he said "Its way better for alot cheaper." i didn't know what to say to him.

This video will walk you through it pretty well. For our cars make sure to use the top right slots, the video is a Fiero with the connector turned over.

Thanks guys. And yes it was a fancy one. It said right on the thing obd1 and obd2 and when he picked the year he piced 87 and it never even read the comp.
