modified 081 heads (3 angle valve job, ported, polished, comp 981 springs, 1.94", 1.55" valves)

Re: How Much Power and Torque
I'd say it depends on how good your heads actually flow.
To say they are ported and polished doesn't mean much, flow numbers are the tell-tale.
I could see you having 300+hp, but I don't know about 464 ft-lbs, I'd say closer to 420 ft-lbs or so IMO.

i did a pretty thorough porting of the heads, dont no much about flow numbers though. I just wanted to see what other people thought
thanks
thanks
Re: How Much Power and Torque
I would have to aggree I would think that you are right at about the 300 or so HP mark but 464ftbl's would be something that a 383 would be putting out. I would tend to think right around 390 to 420ftlb's. Just my thoughts.

Re: How Much Power and Torque
That will be a very torquey setup though, very fun to drive.
You can almost get away with those 2.73's (almost!). With a TH350 i'd step up the gears, or else it'll still be fairly sleepy off the line.
That's a WEE cam. But healthy lift alright. Should be great on the street. If you're ever in Calgary we'll have to line 'em up.

Re: How Much Power and Torque
Is this much of a highway car at all?
You don't have enough cam to really use that much gear, so maybe 3.23's or so.

Re: How Much Power and Torque
i don't really travel on the highway so i was thinking either 3.43 and 3.73's being the max and not more than that.
Once I get the rear end done, thats all im going to do with it until it blows up so I think getting the 3.23 in there would be sort of a waste because i wouldn't be able to do it again cus of funds.
