Hard to start after a drive

Basically what the title says...it starts fine when its cold and if it has sat for 15-20 mins but if I take it to the store then come back out (if its warmed up) it turns over like it has a dead battery it might roll over once real slow or it will make half a roll or something like that but let it sit a sec and it will fire up. Some one told me that my headers might be the problem and that its heating up the starter and that when it sits for a bit it has time to cool off...what do you guy's think?

How close are the headers to the starter? Did the problem start after the installation of the headers? If so, you might need to install a heat sheild. If not, the starter might be getting weak and the extra heat from the headers so near might accentuate the problem.

Welcome to "Heat Soak" my friend. Common issue when having headers. Two maybe 3 possible solutions. Heat shield as mentioned, thermal blanket wrap, or a mini starter are all possibles. The other possible is just let the car cool off an hour or so everytime you take a drive (that idea doesn't sound too good does it?).

The headers were on it when I got it so dunno there....mini starter sounds like an option tho, not really keen on wrapping anything around it but might try a heat shield. thanks for the info guys
