Hey guys i bought my car about a year ago and when ever it sits for a few hours then i start it up it will smoke for like 5sec and its blue so i'm gusseing that its using my oil.
Now this is what i think the original owner that i bought it off of was older and got a new truck so the car sat in his garage for like 5 years and never driven a hole lot. So i was thinking that my valve seals could of been dry rotted a little but i dont know.

Can someone help me?

yes its the valve seals.

 

Might be the valve guides.

 

So how much do they cost? and how much would it cost to have someone put them in also?

they will prolly cost around 20 bucks for all of them. im not sure what a shop would charge. i usually do mine myself within an hour.

 

So how hard is it? i thought all the valeves and stuff were under pressure? Can you tell me how to do it b/c i'll give it a shot.

its not all that hard to do . no slam intended but some mechanical talent is required . most repair manuals cover the job , buy a manual , do a search , become best friends with someone who has done the job . good luck .

 

Thanks i will look into it more. I do have a freind that owns a mercedes shop.
But should i do this quick, is it hurting my car any?

no its not hurting anything . changing valve seals on any make car is about the same .

 

Just woundering am i lossing any power b/c of that? But i'll proubly try to do it my self.
