Bent Crank Fix
I've been hearing different opinions on how to repair a bent crank, and I'm hoping that someone here can set the record straight on that.
I have a forged crank that came as a blem cause it's .002" off on the center main, and about .001" out on the #2 and #4 mains. That's when it's mounted in the block suported on the #1 and #5 bearings.
When I put a dial indicator on the center main it reads .004" wobble - So it's bent .002"
Anyhow I've been told that the crank could be turned to correct that, but I've been also hearing that using a hammer is the only way to true a bent crank.
The crank needs to be turned anyhow because of some nicks on the journals.
It's a new crank - Never run - It's a factory forged crank
Thanks for any expert advice on this

Re: Bent Crank Fix
Hammer is correct, but I'd leave that to a competent machinist/engine builder. Learn on someone elses parts
