I'm curious as to what parts are simple swaps from a 4th gen car to a 3rd gen car because i have access to many 4th gen parts and am curious as to if i should try and use any of them on my third gen car?

 

The entire rear suspension, springs, shocks, lower control arms, driveshaft, the rear end bolts in but its 2 inches wider on each side. The 93-97 rear brakes are the same as the 89-92 rear brakes, but I think the emergency brake cables are different. Certain LT1 engine parts are the same, like the pistons, rods, crankshaft and camshaft, but not the heads or intake. The LS1 is competely different and nothing fits. The wheels will fit but you need spacers first. The cat-back exhaust will fit, also.

 

Front seats will bolt right up, but you'll be sitting a little lower since they are thinner.

 

Rear seats bolt right up too.

 

What about the transmission? I have a 91 3.1L with a auto trans and have access to a 95 v6 tranny will it fit?

Yes. The tail shaft may be different and I'm not sure if the older transmission is controlled by a kick down cable or not but the new one isn't.

 

Oops sorry, yes it will FIT, just won't WORK (4L60 vs 4l60E)
