HELP PLEASE BEFORE I BREAK THE CAR!!!
im gettign sick of my ****ing car seriously, its at the point ive caved half the door in from being mad, its a combo of timing and carb issues making it run like ****, it also keeps runnign really hot, idk brand new thermostat dosnt seem to open. the issue with timing is the timing mark on the balancer dosnt line up with the tab at tdc,
for reference its a 350 roller motor, roller lifters, cam, rockers, new timing chain, holly 650, performer intake, the heads are 882,s ported, polished, 5 angle valve job, decked, intake is port matched to heads,
i just need some ****ing help im ready to burn the dam thing, and i dnt need more dents in the car from my anger/stupidity

Sounds like you might want to buy a nice new Toyota. Keeping these old Camaros running takes patience (and money) :-)

Re: HELP PLEASE BEFORE I BREAK THE CAR!!!
how can i get the timing close, without useing a light since the tab i have is incorrect, and wha tother issues could cause it to run bad, its mostly off idle that it runs like **** if i put it in 1st gear and get it to 2000 or so and floor it it will go, but off idle it just stutters then like floods out

Re: HELP PLEASE BEFORE I BREAK THE CAR!!!
Running hot and a new stat... did you bleed the cooling system properly? It can be a real bitch sometimes, I've fought with it myself. Its helps ALOT to drill a small 1/16" or so hole in the thermostat to help bleed out air after reassembly. It makes it soooooo much easier, and might be a good start.
When you get really frustrated, take a 10 min break and cool off. Probably sounds like something your mom would say, but it helps clear your head and you will get things done faster that way. I've had many of those frustrating jobs on my own stuff and at work too (autobody tech) and taking a short break to cool off and get your thoughts together helps alot, and ends up being less expensive more times than you'd know

well good news, i put a new carb on ( cheapy edelbrock) and it runs good now(not as fast)but its still getting hot, i tried running it with no thermostat and it still runs hot, also the radiator hose gets lots of pressure in it, almost like the thermostat isnt opening, any ideas?

Re: HELP PLEASE BEFORE I BREAK THE CAR!!!
you need a thermostat! it slows the flow which lets your coolant absorb the heat and cary it away. check your lower rad. hose, front air dam, fan(s),and coolant mix.put the thermo back in
