i need a cam :help:
i want to put a cam in my 1985 camaro irocz/z28... it has stock lg4 engine with no other peformance work and 700r4 tranny with a stock converter... please help decide what cam to go with..... i want a nice sound but still keep my gas mileage. Also i dont want to spend a lot of money but i want to buy a cam thats worth it... give me some ideas for my daily driver

A cam is the last thing you need on a stock engine. With all the other little things you "should do" while the intake manifold is off, a cam swap just snowballs into a huge project. Plus you will not gain much from it when you stil have the stock intake and exhaust on it.
You should start with subframe connectors. That will really stiffen up the chassis and make it handle better. Then go with a cat-back exhaust, aftermarket catalytic converter, and then headers.

cheapest way with the most new parts and the most performance for the buck and keep it streetable in my opinion

Instead of changing cams, put some roller rocker arms, headers, intake and carb. A cam by itself tends to steam roll into a big project and it won't help with out the other stuff anyway. If you feel you absolutely must change the cam, give Comp Cams tech line a call. they can give excellent advice.
