Engine rough at certain RPM's...help!
Hey guys,
My bird has always had the problem of being quite jerky from around 1300-1700 rpm and most noticably in the first three gears, less in fourth and non existant in overdrive.
You can really feel a "chugging" and you can hear it too, its very annoying and I want to get it fixed before I sell the car.
Also, especially in the first two gears, when you are cruising or accelerating and you suddenly let off the gas, the car almost feels like its braking, it really sputters and decelerates quickly.
Its been suggested to me that bad injectors are the problem, and my Haynes manual lists like 10 different possible causes, looking for some suggestions!
Thanks alot,
Cam

You might try the Throttle position sensor (TPS). Not uncommon for them to develp a bad spot noticable at a certain rpm. You would notice it most under acceleration which might be why you notice more in the lower gears. It can be checked with simple multi meter.
