did my car die?

i just posted something about my blower motor, and i went to autozone to order the part. came outside and started my car ( the car was running and idleing perfectly before hand) floored the pettal cuz their was some water on the floor proceeded to drive off and the car started sputtering and wouldnt go fast than like 3 mph, put the car in park and gave the engine some gas and i didnt hear any knocking or clanking, all my wires are new and just replaced. now the car is idling horribly and stalls when driving a phew feet, im not getting any computer codes either.

You can ventilate your crankcase - with a connecting rod. . .

The main problem it causes is wear due to the oil not lubricating properly because it's not up to operating temperature. The chances of it causing an ignition problem are remote.

Most likely you hurt a valve - spring, lifter, valve seat, retainer, guide, cam lobe, etc.

Re: did my car die?

well my car was running perfectly and all the sudden i do that and it doesnt idle properly and when u try to drive it doesnt hardly move, and wants to die, but their doesnt seem to be any oil on the spark plugs. and all the cables are new and i just changed the ignition control module.

Re: did my car die?

I think before I assumed it was done, I would start checking the simple stuff.
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump, timing.
Sounds kinda like my fuel pump.
It worked great one day, then it would stall or almost stall my car, only way I could move it was slipping the clutch, (interesting in the middle of an intersection) Then a few minutes later it would be fine for the day. Till it finally just quit altogether.

Re: did my car die?

yea, sounds better then wasting it, i changed all plugs and cables. even the ign. module, imma try the fuel pump. today, i noticed one thing... when you try to hold the acceleration down and keep it idle at 2000 rpms in park no matter how much u hit the gas itll just start going down and if you try to floor it itll shutthe car off

Why would water on the (I'm Assuming) floorboard cause you to floor the accelerator?

Does your car eventually die in park as well?

It might be an exhaust problem. I had an 88 Camaro that was driven through a deep puddle of water that touched the exhaust and because of poor factory metallurgy the inside of the exhaust crimped while the outside appeared to be fine.

This doesn't explain the high idle, but would explain the WOT engine stall.
