Which Cam? PLEASE!!

Which cam do you think I would be more likely to reach my goal of a 325-350 horsepower motor at the flywheel? My car is an 87 350 TPI with all free-mods, Edelbrock Headers, no emssions, heater valve delete, air delete, Walbro fuel pump, Hypertech Stage 2 chip, BBK afpr, Pro 700R4 built to 500hp, 2000rpm tc
My cam choice are the Crane 2032, CompXFI 268, or LT4 hotcam. I am in the near future going to go to a set of Patriot Freedom series heads but for now I'm running stock heads. I am going to change the cam with the matching springs.I know that crane sells some matching springs that dont need machine work on the heads. I also understand you can use offset valve locks and shims to get more lift out of the stock heads. I also plan on later updating to a TPIS intake with Edelbrock Runners, both ported.

Just a cam isn't going to do it. You need to improve the entire package.

A Holley/Weiand Stealth Ram makes more sense to me than base/runners.

The XFI cams seem to produce impressive numbers.

Re: Which Cam? PLEASE!!

okay, i knew someone was going to give me there input about what setup to run.
This is my setup that I plan on running, waiting on heads to bolt up everything.
TPIS Bigmouth intake ported, Edelbrock runners Ported, Ported Plenum, Patriot Freedom Series heads. I just need to know what cam will do the trick now. Looks like the Crane 2032 is what it is. If people can make 290rwhp with it then im sure once I stroke my block and add my top end I'll be in the 400hp range even with the crane 2032.

+1 on an XFI cam. Terrific lobe profile, specifically designed for EFI.

Re: Which Cam? PLEASE!!

factory, I know crane makes some springs that fit in factory heads pocket with no mods and i can shim up or use offset valve locks to get my heads lift capability up.

Re: Which Cam? PLEASE!!

There's several companies that make a decent spring that fit into the factory sized spring pocket.

If you're upgrading the heads though, you shouldn't really be worried about a factory spring pocket and max lift. Figure out what springs are supplied with the heads and whether or not they would be adequate for the application.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

"Patriot Freedom series heads "

I assume you choose those based almost entirely based on low price?
..you might want to do an internet search before investing in those
