I have a 83 Crossifre Z28
i have a fear of running this car hard because i dont know if
i will over rev the engine

Can you tell me if it has a rev limiter or fuel cutoff of some sort?

and also whats the rpm i should stay under?

There is no rev limiter. The speed limiter depends on the tires it got from the factory. It could have either a 110 MPH limiter, or no limiter.

Keep it under 5000 rpms. You should feel it stop pulling before then.

 

Speed limitter on an '83? I doubt it... I've never heard of anything before '87 on the TBI cars.

Its not that bad... they make good street engines. My uncle has a Corvette with the CFI 5.7 and its a pretty torquey mill... almost on-par with the L98 IMO. Just aren't ideal for a '*****-out' HP build.
