Help me identify these two pieces?
Hello all,
Im restoring my 86 z28. I already have pulled my old engine out, and the new engine im going to be installing is going to be free from emission devices. I was wondering what exactly these two things do, and if I can removes them since I will not be worring about emissions anymore?

The vapor canister is something you can remove if you want to make your life harder. If you like keeping things simple and better, you'll keep it.

Stores unburnt fuel and sends it back to the gas tank
Removal you can expect about 1/2 mpg drop and will have to install a vented gas cap

I hate conflicting answers... I knew it was to good to be true hahaha. Alright then, well I am going to have no idea how to connect this when my new engine is so im sure you guys will be hearing back from me soon enough.

Not if you run the vent line inside the fender.

All it is is extending a rubber "vacuum" line through one of the holes in the inner fender. It will vent the gas fumes outside of the engine bay.
Cheaper than a 3 dollar gas cap if you have a nipple and vacuum line laying around.
