steering wheel
Sorry if this was posted in the wrong area, i couldn't find any other suiting place to post.
I just installed my new grant steering wheel today, everything went fine, i torqued the steering wheel lock nut (whatever name you have for it) down good and tight, but as i tested it after i assembled the rest of the wheel it was very difficult to turn because the hub that covers the adapter that connects the wheel to the steering column was being pressed to tightly against the steering column making it hard to steer, so i loosened the steering wheel locking nut loose enough to where you could turn the wheel without any resistance at all, but my question now is that the locking nut now is pretty loose, loose enough to move with my fingers, will the driving of my car (steering and whatnot) eventually loosen the nut off because it's so loose now for clearance issues?
thanks in advance
also, will the failure to put the SIR fuse back in that i removed to take out the airbag cause the vehicle not to start?

Elaborate more.

Which piece is the problem?

Re: steering wheel
the "post cover" is what's rubbing up against the steering column. I didn't use the spring, or the gold colored circular shaped thing that you posted the picture of. I will post some pics tomorrow if it will help.
the black post cover is what's too tight, i took it for a test drive and another problem is that with normal power steering cars when you turn and then accelerate out of the turn the wheel corrects itself due to the acceleration in a straight direction, but since it's still a little bit tight against the steering column, even though the nut is really loose, the steering wheel needs to be manually corrected when exiting a turn, which is sort of scary because i'm used to the wheel automatically correcting itself.
I doubt anything was installed backwards, i used the same install kit you provided a picture of.
Could it be because my car had an airbag?
this is the wheel i installed

Re: steering wheel
I had the exact same problem when I installed my Grant wheel last year. I had the exact same tightness in the wheel, and the same problem with the wheel not returning to center when coming out of a turn.
Your problem is the black dome-shaped cover was rubbing the plastic collar at the top of the column. When I tightened my wheel down, it pushed that cover inside the plastic collar, making it very tight. The only solution I could see was to either put a washer under it to act as a spacer or to cut some of the edge of the cover off. I didn't like the washer idea too much, so I taped around the edge of the cover and drew a cut line and cut off about 1/16" using my Dremel with a cutoff wheel. When I reinstalled it, there was no rubbing and the wheel has been fine since.

Re: steering wheel
Had the same problem here but just did what 92RS_Ttop did. My first idea was the washers but since that yellow airbag thingie in the column was there I didn't want to crack it. And it really didn't work too well anyway. So either sand down the collar or cut it.

Re: steering wheel
The airbag clock spring could've been removed. Once you get rid of the airbag, you don't really need to keep that. I just cut the wires where they come out the bottom of the column and pulled them up through.

Re: steering wheel
same here, but damn, my install was so difficult, i think it's because i get too lazy though. I hooked everything on with the sanded post cover and tightened the steering wheel locking nut down really tight, but only to realize that i had but the hub on at about 11 o'clock, opposed to the 12 o'clock lined up. So i tried to pull the wheel off but it was on really tight, and my steering wheel puller didn't have any bolts small enough to fit into the hub holes to pull it off, so i had to ghetto up a set up where i clamped the puller to the steering wheel with c-clamps and a crescent wrench, it was ghetto, but it works.
now everything's fine
