need distibutor help

im having trouble with getting my distibutor to sit all the way in any advice or suggestions thank you

You have to wiggle it and work it in. The top of the distributor has to be free to spin while it's being inserted.

Be very carefulkl here. Im mean extremely carefull. if the dizzy wont drop all the way in, its because the oil pump drive shaft is not lined up with the notch at the bottom of the dizzy shaft. So carefull now, get a long flat head screw driver make sure its clean, stick it down into the hole and with a flash light , turn the oil pump shaft until you believe that it will be lined up with the notch under the dizzy. MAKE SURE that you dont nick anything inside like for example the camshaft. And dont drop the screw driver in either. Anything else bro?
