The cam size doesn't matter as much but there are cars that need certain lobe separations. Computer run cars need 112 or better, Carbed cars can use 112 or lower.( the 112 makes more vaccum for the computer to use to figure out the timing) So yes you need to find that out....

Re: engine set up

The TPI system might run OK the cam you describe, but I think a custom PROM chip would allow the cam to perform.

Re: engine set up

A custom program is going to be required if you expect that cam to perform.

The computer cannot do its job with too little of vaccum, carbs can but comps can't. You need to figure out the lobe separation for the car to perform right....

Re: engine set up

Computers can pump all the fuel the cam could ever need. It takes time to understand how to program the computer to match the cam. With a histogram, you can very quickly figure what vacuum is rich or lean.
100 Kpa = Open Throttle
20 - 30 Kpa = Idle

Again.... if the car cannot make the amount of vacuum necessary the computer cannot figure out the timing therefore the car will always run like crap.....

I've programmed several PROM chips. The fuel map for each vacuum RPM cell needs new values programmed into each individual fuel cell vacuum map. No it's not easy to change all the individual fuel cell vacuum maps! I've done it, and radical low vacuum cams can be used with EFI! Want to go to the race track with me and let me PROVE IT?

Not a big deal. I don't really have much time to spend on web tech boards. I thought the screen shots from my TunerCat software ( http://www.tunercat.com ) and my DataMaster software ( http://www.ttspowersystems.com/DataM...downloads.html ) was an indicator I had tuning experience.

If your such a good tuner then you should be able to tune any type of EFI for him no problem.

Re: engine set up

A cam with that LSA is tuneable. It'll just be a total PITA.
