does this combo look ok

been busting my a$$ to build this thing, and just thought i would get some info from more experienced fuel injection guys on whay they think of this setup, and whether or not it will play nice together. its in a 89 trans am gta 350 with auto.

Cam and Lifters, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 268/278, Lift .420/.442, Chevy, Small Block, Kit
Hedman Hedders 68460 headers, Street, Full-Length, Steel, Painted, Chevy, Pontiac, Camaro, Firebird, 1982-92, 5.0, 5.7L

after looking some more, the heads can handle way more cam, but not sure if i want to do it. what do you guys think, is setup good as is, or does the cam seem to small for the rest of the build. what crank hp #'s would you predict with this, and what do you think i could gain with the larger cam, heads will hold all the way to .6 lift. this car is not my daily driver, and actually sees very little street time, it is being built as an all around race car to be able to autox, drag, and road endurance race. any input is greatly appreciated.

Might want to redo your links so they can be read.
Is the block a roller cam block?

268/278, Lift .420/.442, what is the @ 50 duration?

Your cam choice will do nothing to help the HSR breath given it will spin over 6K with the right combo.Even with the 1.6's rockers you only have .470 lift.
Could have put a ZZ4 roller cam in there; .470 / .510 (w/ 1.5's ) that would work better and reuse your old lifters.
Brand new take outs always on eBay for less than $140

The money wasted on the unneeded 58mm TB would be better spent on a roller cam .You have good heads , good intake but no cam to work with them

well i saved all the stuff to switch it back so no big deal. i thought that cam might be a little small for the setup, so i picked up 1.6 ratio rockers. guess that ain't enough. i will try and find a used roller cam and put that in instead.

Definitely NOT! Your first cam was a fine choice for a driveable combo. 204/214 at 50 isn't much, but it sure feels good to drive at part throttle, and is decent at full throttle up through 4500 rpm. But neither of these two cams would even work for you. The ZZ4 cam would be an okay choice, but all that exhaust lift can pose problems. There's no harm in going flat instead of roller, except a bit less power. Nothing to stress over. If you want to go bigger tha your first cam, just go one step bigger, to a .442/.465 cam. That'll get you 5500 rpm in first gear, and 5000 rpm in third. It's not much fun under 2500 rpm, however.
