91 Camaro RS 305 TBI

I bought this car a couple weeks ago and I noticed that the car would not hold an idle without stalling. Whenever I come to a stop the rpms getting erratic and drop slowly, and finally stalls, but if I keep it revved up at a stop it wont stall. I have replaced many things hoping one of these would fix it:

1) Thermostat
2) Idle Air Control Valve
3) Throttle Position Sensor
4) MAP Sensor
5) EGR Valve
6) O2 Sensor
7) Spark Plugs
8) Plug Wires
9) Distributor Cap
10) Rotor
11) Ignition Coil
12) Vacumm Lines
13) Fuel Filter

Still not running!

I can not think of anything else it could be. This is my daily driver thats not drivable and need to get it fixed quick. Please any advice you have let me know. Thanks

Hey dude, I had a similar problem to you a few weeks ago but my car is a TPI. It really sounds like your throttle body is bad. Probably one of your injectors.

I have check both of the injetors. They were reading in the right range. I also checked the fuel pressure and it was also in range. We were looking at it last night and I think one of the gaskets id bad because it looked like they was a "wet" substance and it smelled like gas. Could this cause ait to be sucked into the TB and causing it to stall?

Replaced all throttle body gaskets. still dying. We started the car with the connector that bypasses the EST and it ran great. But when I plugged it back in it died. This is seriously getting on my last nerve because I have run out of ideas.

Hi.. I'm no pro, but have u checked your base timing?

Yes we have checked the base timing and it is correct. Nothing explains why when I bypass the EST it runs better?????????????

sounds like it may be the ICM in the distributor. The ICM advances the timing and if it runs good with it disconnected the ICM or wires inside the distributor may be bad. The wires may not show a visible break on the outside but could be broken inside the insulation. Those parts are at least worth checking and eliminating as a potential problem.
