Re: Chevy's Best Heads For Performance!

I was always told that my heads were excellent heads. (1984 L69 H.O.) These and the Vortec 305 heads. I think those may be found on later model trucks n such.

Re: Chevy's Best Heads For Performance!

From what I have seen, the 305 vortec heads and the 113 aluminum corvette heads. Do a couple of searches and you will find plenty of info on both...and probably some for sale too.

Re: Chevy's Best Heads For Performance!

For a 305, I'd suggest either #601 or the 5.0 Vortec heads (similar chamber to the 601/416, but with the good 5.7 Vortec intake ports).

081 are essentially the same as the 416, except they use centerbolt valve covers and have the center intake bolts at 72* instead of 90*. They are a good choice.

All factory small blocks had a 3/8" rocker stud and rocker ratio of 1.5

so putting them on my 350 would not be a waste?

No. They are pretty similar to the 083s that the 350 TPI came with. Just slightly smaller chambers and valves.
